Introduction CLE was established in 1994 by a group of brothers and sisters who are interested in the Church of China and are burdened with the Gospel ministry to the Chinese people. This cluster of people had already been involved with China through another ministry, Educational Services Exchange with China (ESEC), which was established in 1980. Over a decade of involvement with China provided them first-hand experiences in many facets of Chinese society and the many opportunities for Christian involvement. In realizing the significant growth of the Chinese Church during the 80s and 90s, in recognition of the amazing grace of God in the midst of the Chinese, and in response to the Great Commission, CLE was established to work directly with the Church in China through servanthood ministry.
